Abstract

This study examines how the anime “Wind Breaker” represents youth culture in Japan, focusing on lifestyle and solidarity in an urban environment. In this context, anime becomes an effective means of depicting the social dynamics and interactions between teenagers that reflect the values of friendship, courage and solidarity. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis to explore the characters and relationships between characters in the anime and how they reflect the reality of youth life in contemporary Japan. The results show that the anime effectively portrays solidarity among teenagers in Japan, especially in episodes 1 and 3, but in episode 2 the anime shows the lifestyle of teenagers who tend to judge and condemn others, reflecting the negative side of social interaction. The results show that the anime is not only entertaining, but also provides insights into the challenges and aspirations of urban youth, as well as how they build communities and support each other in the face of various social problems.
