Language is a tool used by humans to communicate with each other. The use of language in society daily life to fulfill all their needs has been passed down from generation to generation. The habits that are carried out continuously and from generation to generation give birth to a culture in society. In traditional Japanese culture, there is Kami () which is a deity in Shinto belief. Kami () is reflected in an anime titled Natsume Yuujinchou by director Takahiro Omori. This anime is related to ethno linguistics. Through ethno linguistics, we discuss various points of view on the meaning of the Kami () lexicon related to mountains in tne anime Natsume Yuujinchou and their representations in the culture of people in the Japanese region. Reseacrher uses a qualitative descriptive approach using the free-of-change listening method (SBLC) and note-taking techniques.
