Abstract

Gas turbines have many moving components that require a good lubrication system. The lubricant must be maintained at its optimum temperature so that the performance of the lubricant remains good. Lube oil cooler is a fin-fan heat exchanger with air as its cooling media fluid so that it can reduce lubricant temperature. Problems arise when the ambient air temperature used as a cooling medium is too hot so that the oil apparatus coming out of the lube oil cooler is still too high. The application of evaporative cooling is carried out to overcome this problem. In the calculation results, the maximum air temperature reduction during the day is 13˚C so that the effectiveness of the lube oil cooler is at 36.5%. These results show good performance during daytime conditions.
