Keywords:

This study aims to analyze the use of danseigo and joseigo in Japanese drama as a strategy for Japanese language learning. Danseigo, used by male speakers, and joseigo, used by female speakers, are distinct registers of language with specific characteristics. The research employs a qualitative method, with primary data sourced from the drama Karakai Jōzu no Takagi-San The Movie, supported by data from previous studies. The results show that differences in the use of danseigo and joseigo are evident in aspects such as daimeshi, shuujoshi, and kandoushi. These differences reflect personal identity, masculinity, feminism, relationships, familiarity, as well as functions in questions, emphasis, and agreement. The use of these two registers is a common feature of everyday conversations, reflecting social and gender variations in the Japanese language
